BQE benthic invertebrates.jpg [1]

Benthic invertebrates are animals living at least for part of their lifecycles on or in the benthic substrates of rivers, lakes, transitional waters or coastal waters [2]. Common parameters used for characterization are species composition and abundance, ratio of disturbance sensitive to insensitive taxa, and diversity [3].

The list of case studies where this BQE has been considered is presented at the bottom of the page under Pages in category "Benthic invertebrates". Click on the name of the case study to see more information.
