BQE: Benthic invertebrates

General description

Benthic invertebrates are animals living at least for part of their lifecycles on or in the benthic substrates of rivers, lakes, transitional waters or coastal waters [2]. Common parameters used for characterization are species composition and abundance, ratio of disturbance sensitive to insensitive taxa, and diversity [3].
